Elon Musk’s Neuralink is authorized to experiment with chips on humans

In March this year, the billionaire founded X.AI, an AI startup, likely to compete with OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, a generative AI program capable of interacting with humans and producing all kinds of text.

In late November Musk tweeted “we are now confident that the device of Neuralink ready for humans, the timetable depends on the FDA approval process.”

So far the coin-sized prototypes have been implanted in animal skulls.

Several primates were able to both “play” video games and “type” words on a screen just by following the movement of the cursor, according to presentations from Neuralink.

In 2022, Musk asked his employees at Neuralink work faster. “We will be dead before anything useful is produced,” he said at a company meeting, according to the Bloomberg agency.

Synchron, another company working on computer mind control, announced in July 2022 that it had implanted the first brain-machine interface in the United States.

“We built a technology capable of directly disseminating the thought of people who have lost the ability to move or speak due to injury or illness,” founder Thomas Oxley explained in a video on his website.

Several patients test the implant, inserted in the blood vessels, in order to be able to write emails or surf the internet thanks to their eyes and brain.
