Last Sunday, Elon Musk asked the community of the social network to decide if he should resign as head of Twitter. 57% of the participants favored yes, against 43% who opted for no.
In total, more than 17.5 million tweeters participated, to whom he said that he would abide by the result.
Just last October, one of the world’s richest men bought the network, shelling out $44 billion.
Since taking over Twitter, Musk has been no stranger to controversy. The resignation of hundreds of people in various parts of the world, the plan to charge $8 a month for the verified account blue mark, and the suspension of accounts, including those of journalists, have been some of the most controversial issues during his tenure.
