Elon Musk starts blocking third-party apps for Twitter

After the arrival of the controversial Elon Musk at the controls of Twitter, the social network seems to have entered a state of continuous chaos where nobody knows what will happen in the short term. After the ups and downs about the prohibitions to link to other networks, a measure that did not last long after the warnings from the authorities, and other controversies such as mass layoffs or the return of political ads, now it is the turn of third-party applications.

And it is that Elon Musk has banned the use of various external applications to access Twitter, which has eliminated all competition from the official application with a stroke of the pen, leaving app users as TweetBot without service.

The company has confirmed this restriction claiming that they are strengthening the rules on the use of their API, but TweetBot, according to its developers, has always complied with the API rules, even claiming that if there is any new rule that they are unaware of, they would like to know it in order to fulfill it.

However, everything seems to indicate that Elon Musk wants to end any competition and make users use the official application, much more limited, in order to add different monetization options and greater control over users. In fact, the billionaire has always defended the supposed transparency and freedom of expression, but it seems that he is doing the opposite at the controls of the popular Social Network.
