At least eleven people have died and 15 more have been injured in a “terrorist attack” during target practice in the Russian region of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, according to Russian authorities.
Those responsible for this attack would be two citizens of a country of the Commonwealth of Independent States that brings together many of the former members of the Soviet Union, including Russia, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
“They have carried out a terrorist attack on the training camp of the Western Military District in the Belgorod region,” TASS quoted the Russian Defense Ministry as saying.
The “terrorists” opened fire with small arms against the soldiers who were carrying out target practice to voluntarily join the Russian “special military operation” in Ukraine. The two attackers have been killed by the return fire from the military.
