MADRID 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Israeli Army confirmed this Saturday that eleven soldiers have been injured, including three seriously, by the impact of a projectile fired by one of its own tanks during the invasion of southern Lebanon against the Hezbollah militias.
A preliminary investigation reported by the newspaper ‘Haaretz’ has concluded that an armored unit had the intention of firing at a specific building, but mistakenly hit a different building in which the soldiers were located.
The Army confirmed that the projectile was not fired by accident and the Israeli military “were not misidentified as possible enemy combatants.”
The other eight Israeli soldiers were slightly injured and their lives are not in danger.
