The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the Israeli military authority in charge of the Palestinian territories, reported this Wednesday that for the first time eight trucks loaded with flour for the population of Gaza have entered the port of Ashdod.
The trucks, which are from the World Food Program (WFP), have undergone a thorough inspection at the port and have entered the Palestinian enclave, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), through the Kerem Shalom crossing. .
“There is no limit to the amount of humanitarian aid we are willing to provide, because we know that our war is against Hamas, not against the people of Gaza,” a spokesman for the Israeli military authority said on the social network X.
COGAT has earlier reported that a total of 700 trucks with humanitarian aid were paralyzed on the Gazan side in Kerem Shalom waiting to be distributed by United Nations agencies. “The UN must do its job,” he added on social networks.
Israel already blamed the organization last Thursday for the delays in the distribution of aid to 600 trucks that were on the Gazan side, ensuring that “the obstacles are not on the Israeli side” and urging the United Nations to “do its job.”
