MADRID 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Eight Austrian soldiers have been injured by the impact of a rocket against facilities of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the town of Naqoura, as reported by the Austrian Ministry of Defense.
None of the injured ‘blue helmets’ have suffered serious injuries, a Government spokesperson has indicated on social networks, who has condemned the incident even though he has assumed that it is “impossible” to determine at the moment who was responsible for launching the projectile. In this sense, he has urged “all parties” to cease the fighting “immediately.”
The UNIFIL has stressed this Tuesday that the troops “remain in their positions” in southern Lebanon and maintain their activity, “adapted” to a situation that is marked by the constant exchanges of attacks between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). ) and Hezbollah militiamen.
The mission has on several occasions accused Israeli forces of deliberately attacking UNIFIL positions and facilities. Israel, for its part, alleges that Hezbollah uses the ‘blue helmets’ as human shields and has urged them to withdraw.
