The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will deliver tomorrow, Thursday, April 20, new projections of economic growth for the countries of the region in 2023.
In light of the behavior of the economies of the region during the first months of this year, and taking into account the current situation of persistent volatility and international uncertainty, the United Nations regional organization will release an update on growth estimates that were announced in its most recent annual economic report (flagship) Preliminary Overview of the Economies of Latin America and the Caribbean 2022published last December 15.
The presentation of the new figures will be just by issuing a press release, which will be broadcast and published on the institution’s website (www.cepal.org) at 11:00 am in Chile (UTC/GMT -4:00). The media are warned that there is no new ECLAC document or report to accompany the estimates.
According to ECLAC, a slowdown in the regional growth rate is expected by 2023. The specific magnitudes of this situation will be disclosed in the aforementioned press release.
