The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) of the Division for Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the Central American Integration System (SICA) are organizing the first Central American Dialogue on Circular Economy: Circularity of resources and solid waste management to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goalswhich will take place from July 23 to 25 in San Salvador.

This first meeting will serve as a consultation platform to tailor future research and policy support according to current needs, challenges, and accelerated solutions that can measurably improve solid waste management and resource circularity at national and local levels.

The event includes government representatives and invited experts from the United Nations, international organizations, and representatives of civil society and others focused on resource circularity, circular economy, data management, and material flow management, as well as national and local policies and practices for municipal solid waste.
