ECLAC organizes webinar on the challenges and opportunities for digital businesses in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the webinar “From challenges to opportunities for digital business between Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean” was held, organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the European Union and Tecnalia. At the virtual event, the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator was presented, with the aim of facilitating the internationalization of startups from Latin America and the Caribbean in Europe, through a transregional open innovation methodology.

This meeting, framed in the Digital Agenda for Latin America and the Caribbean (eLAC)whose mission is to promote the development of the digital ecosystem in the region through a process of regional integration and cooperation, allowed different participating startups from Latin America and the Caribbean to share the various corporate challenges identified in Europe with which they can connect and generate transregional digital businesses.

The event also highlighted the opportunities available in the area of ​​Cleantech and Smart Production. Transregional digital businesses that already collaborate and meet the selection criteria will be able to apply for this competition. second open call until October 31, 2024, and receive in-kind acceleration services, valued at up to €30,000 for participants from Latin America, or €40,000 for participants from the Caribbean.

The space allowed startups to learn about how to internationalize their businesses and how to collaborate with European companies, as these measures not only boost innovation, but also open up new opportunities for growth and sustainable development, strengthening the region’s integration into the global digital economy.
