The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) is receiving original and unpublished articles on research results, reflections or experiences on population issues to be included in the 115th edition of its magazine Notas de Población, an issue that will continue to favor papers that address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the demographic dynamics of the region.

With more than 45 years of experience, Notas de Población is a biannual publication that is issued in the months of June and December. Similarly, it accepts articles on topics such as population distribution, mobility, urbanization and socio-spatial segregation, and methods and techniques for the analysis of demographic change variables.

The magazine also receives proposals related to marriage and changes in families; health in general and sexual and reproductive health in particular; population and human rights indicators; population and sustainable development; gender equality; Indigenous villages; Afro-descendants, and development and use of censuses, vital statistics and other sources of information. The previous list is not closed, therefore, other possible topics related to demography and population studies are not excluded.

Since 1973, Notas de Población has been a plural space for analysis, reflection and multidisciplinary exchange in the field of population and development and, therefore, an obligatory reference for the community of demographers and population scholars in Latin America. and the Caribbean. This publication is indexed in Latin American Citations in Social Sciences and Humanities (CLASS), in the Regional Online Information System for Scientific Journals from Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal (LATINDEX), in the Advanced Document Search System (DIALNET), and in the Hispanic American Periodicals Index (HAPI).

The selection of articles is coordinated by the Editorial Committee of the journal, which is responsible for preparing each issue, supervising each of its stages in order to ensure contributions of high scientific quality. This Committee is made up of professionals from CELADE-Population Division of ECLAC, as well as specialists from universities in the region, and has the support of the Editorial Board, the journal’s advisory body in the process of evaluating contributions.
