The Latin American and Caribbean Institute for Economic and Social Planning (ILPES) of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) held the course “Territorial and Political Foresight” between June 6 and 14, 2024, which aimed to strengthen the capacities of officials from the city of Santa Fe, Argentina, and the Metropolitan Area.

The technical assistance was organized by ILPES together with the International Cooperation Agency (ACICE) of the City of Santa Fe and the City Government, within the framework of the project signed by ECLAC and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

Forty people participated in the course, who built future scenarios for the metropolitan area of Santa Fe, defining strategic objectives to be achieved in the short, medium and long term. The course offered a dynamic learning and collaboration environment, where participants were able to acquire new skills, share experiences and build a solid network of professional contacts for future joint initiatives.

The training is part of the activities promoted by the City of Santa Fe to develop a metropolitan commitment. The results obtained in the participatory course allowed the construction of a common agenda, with metropolitan challenges and achievements, which will serve as input for the following activities.

The ILPES team, composed of Carlos Sandoval and María del Pilar Délano, acted as facilitators of the training.
