EA updates the games that will lose online services in the coming months

The video game of Electronic Arts (EA) The Sims 4 has become free to download from this Tuesday, a change that the company has accompanied by modifications to its online services, which also affect other titles such as Command & Conquer, Mirror’s Edge and Army of Two.

EA has updated the list of services ‘online’ that will withdraw soona decision made based on the reduction in players as a result of the passage of time and the launch of new titles, which makes it unfeasible to maintain these services.

This Tuesday, and due to the free availability of The Sim 4 base game, EA has decided to withdraw The Sims 4 Deluxe Edition from The Play List for EA Play members and replace it with The Sims 4 EA Play Edition, as listed on the Service updates.

EA Play Pro members will see that instead of The Sims 4 Collection (which includes The Sims 4 Deluxe Edition, Gourmet Getaway, and Kids Room Stuff), The Play List collects The Sims 4 EA Play Pro Edition.

In the remainder of the year, other games will lose some of their online services. It is the case of Army of Two: The 40th Day and Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartelthat on October 20 they will lose access to the servers, and Dragon Age Originswhich will run out of multiplayer screenshots.

On November 9 it will be the turn of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars for Xbox 360 (including the Kane’s Wrath expansion), and Mercenaries 2 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. And on the 30th of that same month, the servers of ONRUSH, though players will still have the offline modes available to continue playing.

Finally, EA has indicated that on December 15 they will no longer have support Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings and Super Mega Baseball 3, both for Luna+.

These changes respond to local EA policies, and although it is not included in the Spain section, in the from United States anticipates some of the servers that will close in 2023, such as Gatling Gears, Mirror’s Edge, NBA Jam On Fire Edition and Shank 2, all on January 19.
