Football is a sport that has remained very similar over the past decade, but that recently changed thanks to the Kings League, a fast-paced football league organized and starring streamers. Apparently, the success of this project impacted Electronic Arts, who decided to implement a similar mode in EA Sports FC 25.
In a digital presentation, Electronic Arts shared with us several details about EA Sports FC 25One of the most striking was a new game mode called Rush, which is designed to be a casual mode that you can enjoy with your friends in teams made up of 4 field players and 1 goalkeeper.
What is the new Rush mode like? EA Sports FC 25?
You might think that Rush is a mode similar to VOLTA, but the reality is different. While VOLTA is going away, Rush has the depth and balance of 11v11 matches, but adapted to work in a faster and more intense format. For example, Rush’s pitch is smaller, and there are changes to the offside rule and the introduction of the blue card, a type of warning that removes a player from the pitch for 1 minute.
One great thing about Rush is that it’s designed to make each match fast-paced and adrenaline-filled. As mentioned, the pitch size is smaller, but it’s big enough to allow room for you to get creative with impressive passes. Also, players don’t have a set position and you’ll have to coordinate with your friends to rotate and avoid leaving yourself vulnerable.
One thing that stands out about Rush is that it is made to be a real spectacle. We say this because EA and Nike designed a stadium made specifically for this game mode. It is an enclosure inspired by the Nike Mercurial and the brand’s logo, which houses a lot of people and witnesses different elements of atmosphere, such as a drone show.
Although at no point in the presentation did EA confirm that Rush is based on the Kings League (in fact there are several differences between the mode and Ibai’s league), it is clear that there is some inspiration. We say this not only because the series leaves street football behind, to focus on a faster-paced spectacle, but also because of the implementation of rules that are different from those of traditional football.
