What’s new in EA Sports FC25

Last year marked a name change for the game, as well as a change of technology around it, and according to Samuel Rivera, senior producer of the title, “this version is the most innovative and ambitious to date.”

The main new feature for this edition in terms of game modes is Rush, a mode in which two teams of five players (four field players and one goalkeeper) each face off. It is important to mention that this is not an independent mode, but is available in all other modes, such as quick matches, career mode or Ultimate Team.

This game mode is similar to real-world fast-paced football, as it lasts considerably less time, there are blue cards instead of red ones which force the player who committed the foul to leave the field for a minute, at the start both teams must run to the ball and penalties are awarded in a confrontation between the player and the goalkeeper, also known as a shoot-out.

New features of the game include FC IQ, a way to improve in-game tactics so that players do what the user (coach) wants them to do.

According to EA Sports producer Thomas Caleffi, FC IQ combines volumetric player motion capture technology to make team strategies more realistic based on three pillars: more than 50 roles for each player, team tactics and intelligent strategies.
