As part of the construction works of the First Line of the Bogotá Metro, The District Department of Mobility (SDM) has implemented, as of July 7, the total closure of Avenida Calle 8 Sur, between Avenida Carrera 30 and Avenida Carrera 27; and Avenida Calle 1 between Avenida Carrera 27 and Carrera 25.

Besides, Starting July 13, the 72nd Street station will be temporarily closed.
As an alternative for users who use this station, there are the nearby stations Flores-Areandina, Calle 76-San Felipe and Polo.
Likewise, the zonal component has an offer of nearly 12 stops with more than 43 routes in the area of influence of the Calle 72 station.

Another travel alternative for users are the dual services C84, M84 Barrio Bellavista (Carrera 7-Calle 73) and D81-Avenida Chile (Carrera Septima-Calle 70A), which will allow connection with the Polo station.
Towards Polo Station, you can take the D81 service, which stops at Carrera Séptima and Calle 70A, and the C84 at Carrera Séptima and Calle 73. Both take Calle 76, cross Av. Caracas and continue along Calle 80, connecting with Polo Station.
Closures between 45th and 53rd streets
Likewise, due to the Metro works, on July 5th the Closure of the mixed lane on Caracas Avenue between 45th and 53rd streetsThis is a new phase of works that began with the closure and dismantling of the Marly station, carried out on June 15.
With this new closure, the articulated buses of the city’s public transport system will circulate in both directions on the inner lane of the exclusive roadway and on the outer mixed lane, according to the information provided by the Bogota City Hall.

Therefore, the alternative routes that private vehicles can take are:
– North-south detour: Take Diagonal 54 west to Carrera 15, then go up Calle 44 and take Avenida Caracas south again.
– South-north detour: Take Diagonal 40A to the east and take Carrera 7th Avenue to the north. Another alternative is to take Calle 45 north to Carrera 6th to the north, go down Calle 46 and take Carrera 9th to the north to Calle 54, go down Calle 54 to Carrera 10th and Carrera 8th to the north and, finally, go down Calle 57 to return to Avenida Caracas to the north.
– West-north detour: Take 53rd Street to the east and go up to 7th Street to the north.
– East-south detour: Take Calle 53 west to Carrera 16 north, then take Calle 54A to Carrera 15, then continue along it to Calle 44. Once on this road, go up and take Avenida Caracas south again.
– East-north detour: On 45th Street, take 8th Avenue to 46th Street, turn north and take 9th Avenue to the north and go to 54th Street and go down 10th and 8th Avenue to 57th Street and finally, go down 57th Street to Caracas Avenue to the north.
– East-south detour: On 45th Street, as far as 15A Bis Street, turn north to 46th Street. From there, go up 15th Street to 44th Street and go up to take Caracas Avenue to the south.
– Pedestrians are advised to walk on sidewalks and pedestrian paths, and to follow signs and cross at corners and in safe places.
– All users of the sector are advised to take this information into account and to proceed with caution, paying attention to the signs so that they can carry out their usual routes without incident.
– Drivers are advised to drive with caution and follow the signs posted in the area of influence of the PMT.

– Pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are advised to pay attention to construction signs, as well as the instructions and recommendations of traffic assistants and personnel in charge of this activity.
