Manhattan has been, for a long time, the capital of skyscrapers. The city is so heavy because of these colossal buildings that it is even sinking. However, there are other cities that want to snatch the award from the American city, and Dubai leads the way. Firms like Mercedes-Benz or Bugatti are doing truly crazy architectural things, they are building the tallest clock tower in the world and they have the Burj Khalifa, of course.
Now they have a new project on their hands: a skyscraper so thin that it seems to defy the logic of physics. And his name will be Muraba Veil.
Ambitious in width, not in height. A few years ago, they started building pencil skyscrapers in Manhattan. They were extremely thin, with a ridiculous base compared to their height. The Muraba Veil will follow that design line, but with a slight change: it will be very narrow, but elongated. In project data shared to , we can know that the skyscraper will not be as tall as others that have already risen in Dubai (or that will, such as the Dubai Creek Tower), but with its 280 meters, it will join that increasingly numerous club of towers that exceed 300 meters in the city.
The really curious thing is that it will only be about 22.5 meters wide. That is, there will not be two apartments in parallel, since only one residence will fit from one side to the other. The tower will have 73 floors and, unlike other ultra-thin skyscrapers, the base will be elongated and not square, allowing it to accommodate more residences. 131, specifically, with between two and five rooms each.
Extreme Arab luxury. The Muraba Veil will be on one of the main arteries of Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road and will be an ode to luxury. The apartments that will go side by side will be inspired by traditional Arab houses and will be arranged around an interior patio.
The building is intended to be a hybrid space between interior and exterior rooms and the company in charge, the Spanish RCR Arquitectes, has commented that the idea is that the building “belongs to the site and the native landscape in which it is located. It must communicate with nature and being imbued with the atmosphere of local culture.

The tallest building ever designed is a colossal (and theoretical) four-kilometer skyscraper: the X-Seed 4000
Amenities. The images that have been shared They are impressive both on the outside and inside, where you can see large rooms with a multitude of sofas and indoor pools. That luxury will also be found in public spaces. For example, there will be a kind of oasis at the bottom of the building where the shapes of the dunes will be recreated. Also a cavernous spa with rock, vegetation and indoor pools for residents.
To scratch your pocket. We will see when this ambitious new residential skyscraper is completed, but we are warning that it will be expensive. If a few days ago we said that the Pagani building in Miami will have residences starting at 2.4 million dollars, now we are going to the houses starting at 4.9 million dollars. And that’s for the two-bedroom apartments.

Will it be filled? It is clear that the skyscraper is imposing, but the big question with this type of work is whether it will end up filling up. One of the controversies of Manhattan’s Billionaires’ Row is that the apartments are empty due to the high price and the whimsical design makes them very susceptible to the wind. We will see what happens with this new skyscraper in Dubai in which, at least, it seems that the residential space will make more sense than in those that have been built in New York.
