DRC orders Rwandan officers in the EAC regional force to leave the country

Kigali would have suddenly withdrawn all its officers belonging to the regional mechanisms

The Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have reported that the Rwandan officers who make up the regional force of the East African Community (EAC), have been “on the verge of leaving” Congolese soil, reason for which he has ordered his departure.

Following this event, the Government of the DRC has ordered the commander of the EAC regional force to repatriate to his country the Rwandan officers who make up the headquarters of the force based in Goma, capital of North Kivu province, according to a statement from the Army.

“The latter have already left Congolese soil and returned to Rwanda,” reads the letter, which details that, with this decision, Rwanda would have withdrawn all its officials belonging to the regional mechanisms based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
