Donald Trump leaves for New York to appear in the case of Stormy Daniels

First modification:

The former president left his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, for New York to testify before a court in that state that is investigating his possible connection with payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign to buy his silence about an alleged relationship he had with her.

Trump was escorted by multiple vehicles to the Palm Beach International Airport to take his private plane and fly to Manhattan to visit “Trump Tower”, prior to appearing before a New York court on Tuesday morning.

Before his plane left, supporters of the former US president gathered at the Florida airport to show their support for the politician. “Our country needs it” was one of the slogans that Trump’s supporters shouted.

The former president is summoned to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for the reading of the charges and the taking of his fingerprints. Subsequently, he will appear before a judge to declare his innocence and start the legal process.

Although many voices express that there is compelling evidence against the Republican, Trump and his supporters argue that it is a political persecution with the motives of sabotaging his presidential campaign for the position in 2024.

Donald Trump is the first former US president to be tried by the country’s authorities and mobilizations of opponents and supporters are expected before his arrival in New York.
