Sony Pictures continues to work on leveraging the Spider-Man character license in any way it can. We say this since it is not enough with tapes based on characters like Morbius, Venom or El Muerto and he is already preparing a tape of another Spider-Man villain, which will star Donald Glover.
Glover, who is also known as Childish Gambino for his musical project, reached a deal with Sony Pictures to take on the role of Hypno-Hustler. He is about a relatively unknown Spider-Man villain, who is the leader of a gang called the Mercy Killers. This group uses hypnotic technology in their instruments in order to steal from those who listen to them.
According to information from The Hollywood ReporterGlover will play Hypno-Hustler in a new film to be written by Myles Murphy, actor of comedian Eddie Murphy.
At the moment there are very few details about this production. What is expected is that it follows the line of tapes like Morbius and Venom by concentrating entirely on Hypno-Hustler. One important detail is that Glover seems to be excited about the musical aspect of the character and being free from Marvel canon.

Donald Glover already played a Spider-Man character
It is worth mentioning that this will not be the first time that Glover has participated in a film related to Marvel or Spider-Man.
As you surely remember, the actor, musician and comedian was Aaron Davis, uncle of Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Homecoming. In the Ultimate Universe comics, Davis is also the real name of Prowler, an interesting antagonist known for his purple and green outfit.
