Canva is renewed with a new interface and prioritizes AI

After a decade since its launch, the company decided to redesign its interface in order to boost creativity, productivity and concentration during work. Among the changes are a new toolbar with more space, where some common options such as the one-click background remover and Magic Studio tools are in the foreground.

It also added a search interface with advanced filters to make the browsing process faster and mark favorite options to always have them available, while collaboration between different people on the same project will be easier and you can even filter, sort, expand or hide comments to work more efficiently starting in August, when the changes will be implemented.

On the other hand, Magic Studio, the series of resources that make use of generative AI, will add new elements, such as Magic Media, which generates graphics, icons and illustrations in various styles from a text indication or Magic Switch, which converts any design into a custom document, whether it’s a message or something else, such as a video script, LinkedIn post, or presentation outline.

According to the company, Magic Studio has been used more than 5 billion times since its launch in October 2023 and they expect that number to continue growing with its new features, including improvements to the AI-based photo editor that allows you to move, delete or edit any object in an image, as well as at the video level, where it is possible to “Enhance Voice”, a function that produces clearer audio by reducing background noise.

For business clients there will also be a tool called “My Voice”, which uses AI to understand the style of a brand and then generate content for it automatically and imitating the way its workers would do it. It is even capable of understanding the style that employees use internally and externally, in the case of their relationships with clients.
