DLSS 3 will come to Starfield through an unofficial mod

Everything seems to point to the expected Starfield will not support DLSS 3 technologybeyond the fact that it is something that only works on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs, Bethesda has partnered with AMD for the development of this space role-playing game and will support the technology AMD FSR 2.0 (FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0), which is compatible with graphics from AMD, NVIDIA and Intel.

However, it seems that those who want to use DLSS 3.0 on Starfield will be able to do so unofficially. At least that’s how it has insured Modder “PureDark”, tasked with adding DLSS 3 support to various games through mods.

Geeknetic DLSS 3 will arrive at Starfield through an unofficial mod 1

The modder has promised to offer support for DLSS 3.0 in Starfield already from the early access version for those who have reserved the game. Later, he hopes to add support for DLSS 2 technology without AI frame generation.

Naturally, these types of implementations are not officially supported nor do they have the specific AI training that NVIDIA generates to offer DLSS 3 and DLSS 2 in supported games. We will have to see what PureDark achieves and if it manages to make DLSS 3 in Starfield work correctly for those who need to use rescaling filters on the RTX 40 to be able to run the game with solvency.
