The report on transactions by channel and points of service for the second quarter of 2024 consolidated by the Financial Superintendence continued to show that non-face-to-face operations continue to gain ground.

In the second quarter of 2024, credit institutions (banks, financial corporations, financing companies and financial cooperatives) and companies specializing in electronic deposits and payments (Sedpe) carried out 4,499 million operations (2,839 million monetary for $2,727 trillion and 1,660 million non-monetary).
For their part, the administrators of low-value payment systems (ASPBV) and the Bank of the Republic carried out 1.036 million monetary transactions for $968.5 billion.
The largest number of transactions continues to occur in non-face-to-face channels, with a share of 79% of the total and 69% of the total amount traded.
The highest number of operations carried out in face-to-face channels was recorded in Bogotá, Antioquia and Valle del Cauca, with shares of 31%, 23% and 12%, respectively.

In the second quarter of 2024, the Internet and branches were the channels through which the largest amounts of money were transacted, Superfinanciera said.
The activities with the highest number of payments correspond to professional, scientific and technical activities, with 69% of the total, followed by wholesale and retail trade; repair of vehicles and motorcycles with 7%, activities of individual households as employers corresponding to undifferentiated activities of individual households as producers of goods and services for their own use 5% and information and communication with 4%.
For non-monetary transactions, the most commonly used channels were mobile applications and the Internet.
