July 18 (Portaltic/EP) –
The new work of Digital Extremes, creator of the third-person shooter Warframe, it will be inspired by adventure films such as ‘Princess Mononoke’ and ‘The Neverending Story’.
The company has shared new details of what will be its next multiplayer online role-playing video game (MMO, for its acronym in English) within the framework of TennoCom 2022the annual Warframe event.
The person in charge of offering more information about this title, which will be called Soulframe, has been the creator of this other game, Steve Sinclair, who will leave his position as director of Warframe to lead this new project.
as collected The Washington Post, Sinclair has revealed that this new project will maintain the same focus as Warframe around cooperative player versus environment combat and that it will be “a mirror version of the Warframe universe.”
“While Warframe focuses on shooting, this one focuses on close combat. While Warframe it is super fast and develops at high speedthis is going to be much slower and calmer”, added the manager in these statements.
In addition to its gameplay, Soulframe will differ from Warframe in that it will focus on a theme about nature and the adventure genre, having as main cinematographic references ‘Princess Mononoke’ Y ‘The endless story’. It will also offer an open world to explore.
“The concept [en Soulframe] is that the world is a little angry about what has been done to it, and the grounds below it tend to change throughout the day,” said Geoff Crookes, creative director of the title.
At the moment, neither Sinclair nor Crookes have provided more details about this project, although they have advanced that the basics of soulframe were born in 2019 and that until last February only a small team of professionals, mostly artists, was working on it.
However, these managers have assured that they plan to make Warframe fans aware of a preview of Soulframe “as soon as possible” and that they hope to be able to offer you the first version of the game “within a year.
