Did you forget to pay for electricity or internet? Waters with the Credit Bureau

In Mexico there are two Credit Information Societies, also known as bureaus, which are Buró de Crédito and Círculo de Crédito.

What debts are sent to the credit bureau?

Some of the services that are registered in these institutions are the payment of mobile and fixed telephony (such as Telmex or Telcel), the payment of electricity, water (although not all municipalities report it) and pay television.

“We must remember that like any other credit grantor, companies that provide credit services must report both the positive and the negative. It is then worth paying punctually to generate/keep an attractive Credit Report”, said the Credit Bureau.

How long does it take to delete a bad rating in the bureau?

It depends on the amount of credit you requested and the time it took you to pay, for example, Círculo de Crédito calculates it in Investment Units (Udis).

When the debts are 25 Udis, the information takes a year to disappear. If your debt was up to 500 Udis, two years must pass and in debts of up to 1,000 Udis, it takes up to 3 years.

Debts between 1,000 and 400,000 Udis, the information is deleted after 6 years as long as there are no legal issues or fraud.

Remember that no one can “remove” you from the credit bureau or erase a bad rating, if they offer you this service, it is a fraud.

How do I check my credit history?

You can go to the Credit Bureau or Círculo de Crédito page and check your history. EYE! You can make a free consultation every 12 months.

If in less than 12 months you make a new consultation, the consultation costs you approximately 35 pesos.
