More tools to keep your Instagram account safe
In addition to this tool, Instagram launched new ways to prevent and solve problems on the platform.
Through automated systems, the platform removed accounts that seemed suspicious or malicious, as well as those that violated community guidelines.
They are also testing sending warnings if they suspect an account may be impersonating another, or if someone requests to follow you. According to their statement, “in the coming months we will also send warnings if an account that may be impersonating a company sends you a direct message.”
Lastly, they will also now display the blue badge for verified accounts in more places on Instagram, so users can quickly determine if the account they are interacting with is authentic. In addition to Profiles, it will now appear in stories, direct messages, and also in the feed.
