BARCELONA, September 19 () –
The Second Vice-President and Minister of Labour, Yolanda Díaz, held a meeting this Thursday with the President of Foment, Josep Sánchez-Llibre, at the headquarters of the employers’ association, which was also attended by representatives of the Catalan business sector and where the reduction of the working day proposed by the minister will be discussed.
The meeting is part of Díaz’s two-day visit to Barcelona, where she met with the top brass of Pimec on Wednesday and this morning with the secretary general of UGT in Catalonia, Camil Ros, and the secretary general of CC.OO. in Catalonia, Javier Pacheco; this afternoon she is scheduled to meet with the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa.
Sources from the employers’ association have explained to Europa Press that the meeting was attended by the Secretary of State for Employment and Social Economy, Joaquín Pérez Rey; the Secretary General of Foment, David Tornos; the President of Alier and member of the Board of Aspapel, Elisabeth Alier; the Corporate Director and Human Resources Management of Vall Companys Group and member of Fecic, Carmina Chia, and the President of the Union of Sports Federations of Catalonia, Gerard Esteva.
Also present were the president of Confecat, Santiago García-Nieto; the president of Cedac, Roger Gaspa; the advisor to the Presidency of the Guild of Construction Workers of Barcelona and its Regions, Josep Gassiot; the director of the Department of Labour Relations and Social Affairs of Foment, Javier Ibars, and the president of the Guild of the Industry and Graphic Communication of Catalonia, Joan Nogués.
The president of Cecot, Xavier Panés; the president of ATA Catalunya, Cristina Pérez; the president of the Catalan Agricultural Institute of Sant Isidre, Baldiri Ros, and the president of the Metallurgical Employers’ Union, Jaume Roura have also participated.
