If a while ago they told us that Blizzard Entertainment is capable of launching a new Diablo installment and an expansion in just over a year, we don’t believe it. However, here we are, talking about the launch of Vessel of Hatred, the first expansion of Diablo IV (2023) that after a delay due to problems in the backend It is now available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC through Steam and Battle.net.

Vessel of Hatred debuts one year and four months after the release of Diablo IV, a game that appears to have completed early access judging by the changes and improvements it has received during this time. Players who acquire Vessel of Hatred will be able to follow the main story and travel to the new region of Nahantu in search of Neyrelle, who suffers the consequences of her actions for having decided to imprison the greater demon Mephisto. Now he seeks a way to destroy it to put an end to its corruption. The players will help him in this mission, but first they must discover Mephisto’s plans and confront his hosts.

Along with Nahantu, Vassel of Hatred’s big draw is the Spiritualist, an entirely new class in the Diablo universe. Some players asked for something more classic like the paladin, but the development team wanted to introduce an original class that would also fit the new zone. The spiritualist proposes a versatile game style based on the summoning of four guardians, each with their own gameplay, mechanics and abilities that make up an archetype. The Jaguar focuses on attack speed, movement, and area damage; the gorilla specializes in defense and damage reduction; the eagle boosts mobility and ranged damage; and the centipede masters poison damage, lifesteal, and crowd control.

Another new feature of the expansion is the mercenaries, allies with unique abilities in combat and their own plot. Players will be able to hire one of the four available mercenaries to accompany them in all activities, and select a second who will appear on request during combat to use their assist ability. Mercenaries have a progression system so they can improve their performance and do not have equipment, but they can offer loot and items to the player in exchange for a coin.

Regarding the endgameone of the key points of Diablo IV, all the known activities are maintained and the Dark Citadel is added, a cooperative experience.
