Sony put an end to the rumors and earlier this week announced the PlayStation 5 Pro, a revision of its current console that will offer performance improvements. Certainly, the revelation generated all kinds of opinions on forums and social networks. Despite criticism from a large sector of the community, a peripheral became very popular in stores after the confirmation of the new model.
The Japanese company announced that the new platform will be available for $699.99 USD from November 2024. If it is already a very high price, players who want to enjoy their favorite titles in physical format will have to shell out more money.
What happens is that the controversial PS5 Pro lacks a Blu-ray drivewhich is sold separately at a recommended price of 74.99 USD. Although fans are clearly upset by this situation, the disc reader, which was originally released alongside the PlayStation 5 Slimincreased its sales in recent hours.
