() — Senior officials from Donald Trump’s political fundraising and former campaign operation are among dozens of people from the former president’s orbit who have received grand jury subpoenas in recent days, as the Justice Department escalates its criminal investigation on Jan. 6, 2021, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.
They include former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien and Sean Dollman, who worked for Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign as chief financial officer, sources familiar with the matter tell . Neither Stepien nor Dollman responded to requests for comment.
Dan Scavino, a former Trump adviser, was also recently subpoenaed, according to a source familiar with the matter. Scavino did not respond to request for comment.
More than 30 people with connections to Trump have received subpoenas in recent days, according to two sources familiar with the goals of the subpoenas. Subpoenas are intended for documents and, in some cases, testimony before a grand jury in Washington.
The spate of subpoenas and other investigative activity came in the days before the start of the Justice Department’s usual pre-election quiet period, a 60-day period before the midterm elections during which the Department generally tries to avoid taking public action. in politically sensitive investigations to avoid the appearance of trying to affect elections.
Some of the subpoenas, including one reviewed by , were wide-ranging and sought information on a range of issues, including the false voter plot, primary fundraising and Trump’s political vehicle, Save America PAC, the organization of the Trump rally on January 6 and any communication with a broad list of people who worked to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
The subpoena reviewed by seeks records related to compensation provided or received from a list of people that included Trump’s attorneys and campaign staff as of January 20, 2021.
It also calls for communications with anyone from the US Department of Justice. As previously reported, investigators are examining former Justice Department attorney Jeffrey Clark’s role in promoting false claims of voter fraud on behalf of Trump. .
The subpoenas seek to obtain communications with some of the same actors previously identified in subpoenas served on bogus voters in several states earlier this year, including former Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and Victoria Toensing and Boris Epshteyn, a Trump campaign adviser. Some of the subpoenas also requested any information the recipients had previously provided to the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol.

“I’ve seen a lot of subpoenas. This one looks very different because it doesn’t have an address,” said Kerik’s attorney, Timothy Parlatore. “It’s usually very targeted.”
Brian Jack, the last White House political director under Trump, was also subpoenaed, according to a source. Jack did not respond to ‘s request for comment.
Women for America First president Amy Kremer, who organized Trump’s rally outside the White House, said in an early morning tweet that her group was also subpoenaed. Her lawyer confirmed it publicly.
