Denuvo introduces anti-piracy software against emulation of Nintendo Switch games on PC

Denuvo Software Solutions has presented an anti-piracy technology to fight against emulation on computers of video games released on the console Switch.

irdetoparent of Denuvo, has revealed this new technology called Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection it’s a statement published within the framework of the Gamescom video game fair that is being held these days in Cologne (Germany).

The firm has explained that Switch titles have long suffered from piracy problems. In fact, Irdeto has pointed out that it is possible to emulate the games of the hybrid console on PC from the day of its launch, despite the fact that the version of the same games for PC it does have anti-piracy protection.

Irdeto has stressed that this new technology is integrated into the titles without affecting the user’s gaming experience. To do this, the ‘software’ allows the insertion of checks within its code that block emulators.

The company has further stated that Denuvo’s ‘software’ will ensure that anyone who wants to play a Switch game is forced to purchase a legitimate copy of it.

The group has also assured that by preventing piracy on Nintendo Switch by blocking “unauthorized” emulations of its games on PC, development studios will be able to increase their income during the launch window of these titles. Irdeto has defined this period as the “more important” for its monetization.
