10 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Denmark’s acting defense minister, Troels Lund Poulsen, has confirmed that Copenhagen hopes to start supplying Ukraine with German-made Leopard-style main battle tanks before the summer.
“We will start deliveries of Leopard to Ukraine by the summer. Looking ahead, I hope it will be possible to transfer around a hundred Leopard-1 tanks,” Poulsen said, considering these main battle tanks to be a “significant help.”
For his part, and beyond the number of tanks that Copenhagen finally sends to Kiev, the Ukrainian Defense Minister, Oleksei Reznikov, has asserted that “in the near future” the Leopard will be heard “roaring with a Danish accent” in Ukrainian territory.
Poulsen and Reznikov have appeared before the media in Odesa, from where the Danish has reported a possible supply of CAESAR model self-propelled howitzers and in whose use Ukrainian troops are already training in Danish territory, reports UNIAN.
