The medical journal ‘The Lancet’ stated on Friday that the death toll in Gaza due to the Israeli offensive could be 41 percent higher than that provided by the enclave’s authorities for the period between October 7, 2023 and October 30. June 2024, before adding that, if this discrepancy continued to date, the death toll would be more than 70,000 in the Strip.
On the other hand, the press office of the Gazan authorities has reported that among those who died in the last few hours is a journalist, killed in an attack carried out by the Israeli Army against Gaza City, located in the north of the enclave.
Thus, he has detailed that the deceased is Mohamed Bashir al Talmas, who worked for the Palestinian news agency Safa. “He has fallen a martyr for the serious injuries suffered in a bombing by an Israeli occupation plane against the Sheikh Raduan neighborhood in Gaza City,” he stated.
In this way, he has stressed that to date 204 journalists have died due to the Israeli attacks against the enclave and has reiterated his “firm condemnation” of the “murders of Palestinian journalists by the occupation” within the framework of the offensive. unleashed after the attacks carried out on October 7, 2023.
“We ask the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists and all journalistic organizations in all countries to condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip,” he said in a statement published in your Telegram account.

“We demand that you exert serious and effective pressure to stop the crime of genocide, protect journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip and put an end to the murders against them,” he said, before expressing his condolences to the relatives of reporters killed at the hands of Israeli troops.
