Day without a car ends in Bogotá

At 9 p.m. this Thursday, September 22, the day without a car and without a motorcycle was lifted in Bogotá. In addition, at 8 pm the measure ended in the municipalities of Mosquera and Chía, which also joined this year.

The day began at 5 am and according to preliminary balances, during the day 80% of the mobilizations were carried out on public transport.

9:00 pm At the close of the day, the authorities delivered a preliminary balance in which he reports that 80% of the mobilizations were carried out through public transport such as buses and TransMilenio. 2% of people who went out on the day traveled by taxi, 7% by bicycle and 1% by skateboard. The remaining 10% was transported in vehicles with exceptions, authorized by the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá.

According to the authorities, during the day there was one death in a traffic accident, 64 incidents on the road, 72 simple crashes and more than 462 subpoenas were imposed on people who failed to comply with the measure.
