Sources from the Superintendency of Public Services have just confirmed to EL TIEMPO that Dagoberto Quiroga, head of that entity and a man close to President Gustavo Petro, resigned from his position on Wednesday morning.
Quiroga submitted his resignation letter to the president’s office after information was leaked about alleged wiretaps by one of his advisers, former lieutenant colonel Jorge Luis Villamil Salazar.
There was also a version that he was leaving for having hired an official who had been fired from the Department of Social Prosperity: Jhonathan Ramírez Nieves.
“Dagoberto is leaving due to differences in the Casa de Nariño regarding the way in which the energy and gas sector, which manages more than 120 billion pesos with profits of more than 30 percent, was being intervened in,” a Quiroga associate told EL TIEMPO.
EL TIEMPO contacted Villamil who assured that all the procedures of the Special Tasks area that he manages are in accordance with the law and through inter-institutional cooperation with Dijín, UIAF, the Prosecutor’s Office and various superintendencies.
“We made agreements with six entities. The alleged interceptions are 100 percent false. Everything has been done within the framework of due process. Everything is documented,” said Villamil.
