Đà Lạt in Vietnam exports vegetables to Singapore and South Korea

Lettuces grown in the Central Highlands province of Đà Lạt city in Vietnam have been exported to Singapore and the Republic of Korea (ROK).

According to the municipal People’s Committee, some 24 tons of lettuce and other vegetables from the city’s Langbiang farm were shipped to Singapore in early October.

Trần Huy Dương, owner of the farm, said the vegetables were grown using high-tech farming methods, adding that they must meet the food safety standards of both Vietnam and importing countries.

According to the municipal People’s Committee, some 24 tons of lettuce and other vegetables from the city’s Langbiang farm were shipped to Singapore in early October.

The local administration also said that up to 50 tons of vegetables were ordered every week by companies from the Republic of Korea and Japan.

Đà Lạt, blessed with fertile soil and favorable climatic conditions, is known as the kingdom of vegetables and flowers.

It is poised to become a flower export hub in Southeast Asia and aims to increase the annual value of flower exports well beyond the current $50 million to reach its annual capacity of 3.1 billion cuts.
