Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky has warned that Russian tanks will “not stop in Ukraine” in their military offensive.
“It is naive to think that if Russia wins in Ukraine, its tanks will stop at its western border. With its distorted vision, the sovereignty and integrity of its neighbours and the freedom of its citizens must be aligned with the Russian vision,” he said at an event in Bratislava reported by Radio Prague.
Lipavsky criticised those who want to “appease Russia” with concessions at the expense of Ukraine’s interests. He also believes that Russia is at war with the West, not Ukraine, and that allowing them to win would mean “a fundamentally dangerous and unstable Europe.”
The response must be “firmness and strength” to “set limits to Russian aggression,” limits that “we must set ourselves.” “If we want to firmly defend our values, we need the courage to act,” he stressed.
