Crystal Dynamics has been through a lot in the past few months. The former Square Enix studio created a bunch of franchises that helped the Japanese company appeal to Western audiences. Among them is Legacy of Kain Y Gexwhich unfortunately have been a bit forgotten, but today Crystal Dynamics finally spoke about them, although not in the way that fans expected.

Crystal Dynamics is one of the studios that already has 3 decades in the video game industry. Precisely today, July 8, 2022, the developer of the Embracer Group celebrated 30 years of “telling stories and creating immersive experiences” since its foundation in 1992.

The studio jumped at the chance to celebrate this event and used its Twitter account to thank fans for their support.

Crystal Dynamics remembered the forgotten Legacy of Kain Y Gex

What is striking is that in the celebration message the developer spoke of the franchises that they have launched in these 3 decades and specifically mentioned the series tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain And till Gex.

That’s not all, as he accompanied the message with a special 30th anniversary logo, which includes the silhouettes of Lara Croft, Raziel and Gex.

This was especially received by fans, as for the first time in a long time the studio is publicly referencing franchises that it hasn’t released a game for over a decade, we’re talking about Gex Y Legacy of Kain.

doLegacy of Kain Y Gex will they return?

The foregoing serves to remind that the studio has some franchises that are of interest to players, but it is important to mention that it does not mean the confirmation of a new installment of these series, although it anticipates “exciting adventures” in the future.

We remind you, however, that Crystal Dynamics now belongs to the Embracer Group, a company that, unlike Square Enix, is more adventurous in terms of launching games or forgotten IPs that are highly requested despite the fact that they can represent a bet and an economic risk.

In case you missed it: a video of a game of Gex cancelled.

Embracer Group, for example, has dared to bring out of lethargy Destroy All Humans!as well as Darksiders. There are even plans for a new TimeSplitters. Also, Embracer Group when buying Crystal Dynamics did not rule out the idea of working on remakes or remasters of IP from the studio.

The latest game in the series, Legacy of Kain: Defiancearrived in 2003, so next year the franchise will be 10 years old without receiving a new installment, so it could be a perfect opportunity to announce a remake or a new game in the series. Gexfor its part, will celebrate its 30th anniversary in a few years, so a new project geared towards the celebration does not sound unreasonable.
