22 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The pro-Russian government of Crimea has confirmed this Saturday the activation of the anti-aircraft defense systems, supposedly in response to an attack, although it has ruled out that there have been casualties or personal injuries.
The governor of the area, Sergei Aksenov, has asked the population to “remain calm” and report only through reliable sources, in a brief message posted on his Telegram account.
The peninsula has been under Russian control since 2014, although the Ukrainian government continues to defend that its objective is to recover it. Pro-Russian authorities maintain high alert for the risk of attacks, which are usually attributed to drones.
