The case of the mayor of Villar de Cañas, in Cuenca, who this week has gone viral after statements in which he assured that “Irene Montero has sores in her mouth from sucking on her pigtails”, is not the only one in Castilla-La Stain.

Núñez: “The PP is the only party committed to equality that defends women with words, deeds and votes”

Last January, the candidate for mayor of Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara) also made a show of macho comments through social networks. Manuel Corral snapped at the Secretary of State for Equality: “You don’t have that problem, not even a rapist touches you.” A comment he made after some unfortunate words by Ángela Rodríguez during an intervention on account of the ‘only yes is yes’ law in which he ironically said: “From the creators of ‘people are going to go to the register to change of sex every morning’ arrives: ‘The rapists on the street’”. The PP candidate in Azuqueca demanded the elimination of the Ministry of Equality.

Years before, around 2015, the mayor of Villares del Saz, also in Cuenca, published a comment on his Facebook account in which he called the deputy general secretary of the PSOE in Castilla-La Mancha and MEP Cristina Maestre a “cheap podemita whore”. . The mayor assured that he “got confused”, was sentenced to compensate Maestre with 8,000 euros and in 2019 José Luis Valladolid once again led the candidacy in the Cuenca municipality where he is a councilor today.

This Saturday, the Minister of Equality and spokesperson for the Government of Castilla-La Mancha has asked the president of the Castilian-La Mancha PP “to hit the table so that they do not stand for the next elections or, we will understand that this form of to do politics” and which consists, he assures, “in attacking all women”. She did so during an act in Miguelturra (Ciudad Real) where she attended the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Women of the Transition’, which covers the struggle of women for democracy and their rights from associations, unions and political parties in this province.

He described as “very unfortunate” that the Popular Party and its regional president, Paco Núñez, have not ruled out that the mayor of Villar de Cañas is their candidate again after the “deplorable statements” about the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero.

At the moment, the leadership of the Popular Party of Cuenca has made it known that the request for the opening of an information file to the mayor of Villar de Cañas has been transferred to the Committee of Rights and Guarantees of the Castilian-Manchego PP. It is necessary to remember that the statutes of the PP punish with the expulsion the insults of the mayor of Villar de Cañas against Irene Montero. In addition, the Cuenca PP explained in a statement this week that the candidacy of José María Saiz for Mayor of Villar de Cañas in view of the upcoming elections in May will be assessed by the Provincial Electoral Committee, the competent body for this matter, based on the conclusion of the information file.

For Blanca Fernández “neither this municipality, nor Castilla-La Mancha nor the people of the PP who have common sense” deserve it. In this sense, he took the opportunity to recall that “more than five years have passed since the mayor of Villares del Saz called the deputy general secretary of the PSCM-PSOE, Cristina Maestre, a cheap whore, and this gentleman is still a councilor to this day” , as is the case with the candidate in Azuqueca de Henares, who “has made headlines for his macho and very degrading comments against women.”

Today the PP celebrates its first ‘Solutions Forum’ and focuses it on equality

Precisely the PP of Castilla-La Mancha celebrates a day in Albacete this Saturday. “Equality will be the central theme of the first ‘Solutions Forum’ of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha’, announced the ‘popular’.

Both the president of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez, as well as the national deputy secretary of Social Policies of the PP, Carmen Navarro, and the president of the PP of Albacete, Manuel Serrano, as well as the general secretary of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Carolina Agudo, and the Deputy Secretary of Sector of the PP of Castilla-La Mancha, Tania Andicoberry.

Núñez has avoided referring to the expulsion of the mayor of Villar de Cañas that the PSOE, Podemos or the Government of Castilla-La Mancha are demanding and has chosen to ensure that the PP is “the only party committed to Equality because it defends women with words , with facts and with votes”.
