The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica, Dr. Arnoldo André, awarded the National Order Juan Mora Fernández, in the degree of Grand Cross Silver Plate to the ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Tang Heng, who concludes his diplomatic work in Costa Rica.
In a ceremony in the Golden Room, at the Foreign Ministry headquarters, André reaffirmed the strong ties that unite both nations and thanked the ambassador for his work in Costa Rica.
In his words, the minister stated that thanks to the constant work of Ambassador Tang, both countries have promoted the agenda of bilateral relations and cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, decarbonization, mitigation and adaptation to climate change and the preservation of biodiversity. .

He also mentioned infrastructure projects such as the National Police Academy, the Biomolecular Laboratory of the National Center for Agricultural Transfer Innovation and donations for the recovery of the floods that occurred in the Caribbean and the adverse effects of hurricanes in 2021; which he highlighted, occurred during the administration of Ambassador Tang.
The Chinese ambassador thanked the decoration, which he indicated highlights the high importance given to the Government of Costa Rica to the relations between both countries.
The Chinese diplomat also stated that during his appointment he has witnessed the maturation of bilateral relations and mutual political trust. He also highlighted that China supports the socioeconomic development of Costa Rica to the best of its ability and predicted an eternal friendship between the two nations.
Tang Heng has served as the highest diplomatic representative of the People's Republic of China in Costa Rica since May 2017.
