Fedesarrollo published his Consumer Opinion Survey (EOC) for the month of Junein which, the Consumer Confidence Index (ICC) registered a significant improvement.
Despite continuing with a negative balance of -14.1%, it showed an increase of 8.7 percentage points (pps) compared to the previous month, when the indicator was -22.8%.

According to the entity, the increase in consumer confidence compared to last month was due to an increase of 8.0 percentage points in the Consumer Expectations Indexwhich measures the vision of citizens for the future, and an increase of 9.8 points in the Economic Conditions Indexwhich evaluates perceptions about the present.

Fedesarrollo highlighted that in June, consumer confidence increased in all the cities and strata analyzed. In the case of the five cities analyzed by the entity, only Barranquilla showed a positive confidence level in June, with a balance of 4.5%. The city with the lowest confidence indicator was Medellín, with a figure of -30.9% for the sixth month of the year.

By socioeconomic level, in all strata a negative confidence level is still maintained. At the high level, the ICC was -35%, for middle-income families -10.3% and for low-income families -15%.
