Connectivity ecosystem improves digital processes in companies

Currently, all companies, regardless of the economic sector to which they belong, coexist in a digital age, where most require software, platforms or applications to carry out their processes. However, this situation also promoted new challenges in terms of equipment, connectivity and cybersecurity.

Recently, the annual report X-Force Threat Intelligence Index, prepared by IBM Security, found that Latin America represented 12% of all cyberattacks observed in the world, being Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru The most attacked Latin American countries in 2022.

In addition, the report indicates that the most common cyber attack is ransomware, a modality that concentrated 32% of the attacks, and that in fact made Latin America one of the regions with the highest percentage in this category globally.

“This is becoming more common and has a much stronger impact on companies, since it not only leads them to pay large sums of money, but also affects their digital assets and their reputation, which in the end, at this time means everything. ”, points out Juan Ramón Jaramillo, Business Development Manager of Gtd Colombia, a company that seeing this situation developed a Connectivity package known as Essential Internet, a solution that integrates several tools so that companies can have higher Internet speed through a modern Fiber Optic network, data backup, software to improve productivity rates and, most importantly, everything that it offers in terms of security.

In addition, the company confirmed that hackers had stolen sensitive information and subsequently disclosed it, such as patient, supplier and employee data, medical records and financial statements, among other things, which still have the managers of this organization on alert.

This attack was made with a ransomware known as ‘White Rabbit’ and has led companies in Latin America to pay up to US$1.5 million to recover lost information and fix the problems it causes.

“These cyberattacks are more complex every day and companies continue to have a deficit in their cybersecurity strategies, therefore, it is essential that Colombian companies prepare and invest more in this aspect in order to have timely managed detection and response directed by experts. In the end, what they are protecting is one of their most important assets: data.” Jaramillo asserted.
