The Marseille Prosecutor’s Office has announced this Wednesday that the last two bodies have been found under the rubble after a building in the city collapsed last weekend due to a gas explosion, which has left as a final balance a total eight dead.
“The final figure is eight people dead,” prosecutor Dominique Laurens detailed, adding that seven of the six bodies extracted from the rubble were identified on Tuesday at first and last hour of the day, while another was identified at the last minute. this Wednesday afternoon.
Likewise, it has indicated that the evidence compiled during the investigation confirms the hypothesis that the building collapsed after an explosion due to a gas leak. In fact, among the rubble the investigators found gas meters, BFMTV has reported.
The event, for which eight people, already confirmed as dead, were reported missing, forced the evacuation of some 200 people from nearby buildings, while the authorities launched a telephone for those affected.
