Now more than ever, multiplayer video games are having a tough time succeeding; even those that have had a good start are struggling to retain the interest of the community. With all this in mind, it is not surprising that Concord has failed. Now that it is unplayable, its small fan base has said its final goodbye.
The first project of Firewalk Studios debuted late last month and certainly failed to find its place in an increasingly competitive market. The community criticized the character design, its unrealistic price tag, $40 USD and its structure was very familiar to other online experiences.
After the failure, the director of the development studio, Ryan Ellisissued a statement confirming that they will be shutting down the servers. The day has finally arrived, and at this time it is impossible to play this online offering. As incredible as it may seem, some players regretted the cessation of operations.

Gamers say their final goodbyes to Concord, the failed PlayStation multiplayer game
Ryan Ellis has suggested that the game could return in some form or another, but at this point there’s no guarantee that will happen. So there’s a chance that this was the last week of activity for the sci-fi title. Aware of this, the community took to forums to express their fanaticism and lament the closure.
“This It was an incredible experience and I’m glad I took part in it. Goodbye, Freegunners. “Hopefully we’ll meet again someday,” wrote one player on the subreddit Concord. In response to a user in the comments section, he revealed that he played 128 hours and that was able to get the platinum trophy.
Other fans shared their own anecdotes and said that the exclusive PlayStation 5 and PC It was one of the most fun titles I’ve played in recent times.
“I have high hopes that Firewalk will be given another chance. If PlayStation doesn’t give Firewalk the resources it needs to redesign the game and instead plans layoffs or even shutting down the studio, the outrage will be some of the worst they’ll ever receive. I know I won’t forget something like this,” one fan commented.
“Same here. It was a game made with love“Clearly. Released at the wrong time and in the wrong era. I really think gamers from the early 2000s and mid 2010s would love it,” commented another. “Yeah, I’m really going to miss it. I hope it comes back someday and if it does, that thing that made me love it will still be there,” said one player.
Naturally, it is now impossible to obtain platinum from ConcordIn the days leading up to the shutdown, players took drastic measures in an attempt to complete all the challenges. Those who managed to do so were quick to share screenshots on social media to show off their platinum.
In addition to the few players who gave it a chance, other developers in the video game industry expressed solidarity with Firewalk Studios and lamented the closure of the multiplayer FPS.
