Comoros President Azali Assoumani was stabbed during the funeral of a distinguished sheikh on Friday, but his injuries are not serious and he is out of danger.
This was confirmed by the Comoros Presidency on its official Facebook profile, where it stated that Assoumani has been able to return to his residence, while the attacker has been arrested and is in the custody of the security services.
The attacker was reportedly a military officer on duty, according to local press reports, which indicate that the president was injured in the head and quickly received medical assistance.
