Carolina Vélez, corporate and communications manager at Finsocial and cofounder of the Women in Fintech (MeF) community, received the Fintech Woman of the Year 2024 recognition, awarded by Finnovating, a global community that promotes innovation and collaboration in the sector Fintech Insurtech, Proptech, Regtech, among others.
The distinction was received within the framework of the Fintech Unconference Colombia 2024, held in March in Bogotá.

Vélez, who also assumed her position on the board of directors of the She Is Foundation, to which she was invited to participate due to the leadership she has gained in the sector and her fintech knowledge, began her management to promote projects that contribute to the improvement of the quality of life and development of women in the country.

“Since my training as a professional, and now in the position I hold at Finsocial, my commitment to gender participation has been capital,” said the director, emphasizing Finsocial's philosophy on this issue: “We recognize that gender diversity is fundamental to our business success. Therefore, we remain committed to promoting their leadership and an environment in which women, clients, collaborators and the community in general, can reach their maximum potential. From Finsocial and, from the Women in Fintech community, we will continue working on our purpose of promoting its development and reducing gender gaps in the country and we will soon announce our new gender policy,” Vélez concluded.
