( Spanish) — The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, reported on Wednesday changes in the police leadership. In a tweet, he noted that the new director of the National Police will be retired General William Salamanca, a reserve major general “with more than 37 years of experience in the institution.”
Until Salamanca rejoins, General Tito Castellanos will take over as manager. He works as head of the National Police Service, added the president.
Petro thanked the “hard” work of until now director Henry Sanabria and deputy director Yackeline Navarro.
