According to estimates from the United States Census Bureau, there are approximately 62.6 million Latino people who generate around US$2.8 billion a year. These data are not minor and reveal the importance of this population in the North American country, a factor, due to which every day they become a public of greater interest for the logistics sector since it is one of the ones that sends and receives packages the most.
(Quality and service, two seals in which the logistics sector works).
Looking to the future of this industry, the US technology company Pitney Bowes conducted research in which it found that the volume of US packages grew 37% year-on-year in 2020. In addition, it expects this figure to double by 2026 reaching 32 to 39 billion packages.
Under this scenario, the Colombian company One Easy Stop recently sealed a strategic alliance with USPS (United States Postal Service), thus strengthening its position in the US market and opening up the possibilities for Latin Americans to pick up, ship and deliver products much more easily and quickly.
It should be noted that USPS, It is the largest postal system in the world, delivering 44% of the world’s mail and by 2021 it had 31,330 post offices across the US, that allowed it to deliver more than 128,800 million pieces of mail in the year.
(One Easy Stop receives investment to expand its logistics model).
María Mercedes Blum, director of operations at One Easy Stop, explains that this collaboration opens up a range of possibilities for Latin American citizens who want to send or receive packages in the US or from another country, and who used to have problems due to lack of knowledge logistics providers, high costs, lack of technology or long distances from shipping offices.
“The best thing is that through the platform users will have the opportunity to connect with other allies, have a price comparison, request the service to pick up and deliver the products to any destination in the US from Alaska to Florida, which which in the end, ends up being a tool that democratizes the shipping service for all Latin Americans”Blum noted.
Although, to date, this option is only open to companies that have the One Easy Stop software, the managers assure that in a few months they will launch a platform for the public that allows them to carry out this process.
The agreement with USPS is added to other previous strategic alliances with important logistics operators such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, Servientrega, Zoom in the US and Venezuela, RedPack for Mexico or Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, Parcel Force in England; CTT in Spain; Express Mail and La Poste in France or DTDC in Indiaa, with which this company is not only expanding into new markets, but also aims to create a global logistics ecosystem.
“We are excited to partner with USPS, a globally recognized institution in the field of logistics. This strategic alliance will strengthen our ability to offer a more reliable and efficient shipping and receiving service in the United States, allowing Latin American users to take advantage of the business opportunities in this key market”highlights Blum.
It should be noted that according to the German portal Statista, the global logistics industry closed 2022 with a market size of approximately US $10.41 million, and it is expected that by 2028 this figure will exceed US $14.08 million.
This collaboration can be highlighted as a boost to the logistics industry, innovation and the development of new models that facilitate international trade for companies and individuals on this continent.
