Colombia captures and expels to Ecuador one of the leaders of the criminal gang Los Lobos

Migration Colombia reported Thursday that it expelled from its territory one of the Ecuadorians most wanted by the authorities of that country, Luis Alfredo Arboleda Andrés, alias El ‘Gordo Luis’, classified by the authorities as the second in command of the criminal gang Los Wolves.

The arrest of the Ecuadorian who “was in Colombian territory and has a judicial record and an arrest warrant in force in Ecuador” was given, according to authorities, thanks to the joint work between Interpol and Colombia Migration,

“It was confirmed that the Ecuadorian citizen identified himself with false documentation, has an arrest warrant and transfer to the Cotopaxi No. 1 detention center,” in addition to “an impediment to leaving the country from the Judicial Unit of Criminal Guarantees of Quito (since December 2022) and the First Civil Competent Unit of Samborondón (since April 2022),” says a statement from the Colombian immigration authorities.

The ‘Fat Luis’, who had been arrested twice and was released due to controversial court decisions, is accused of several homicides, possession of drugs, weapons and escape from a prison in Ecuador.

Los Lobos is considered by the Ecuadorian authorities as one of the most numerous criminal gangs in Ecuador that have generated disputes in the streets and massacres inside prisons, which left more than 315 inmates dead in 2021.

Migration Colombia reported that the Ecuadorian was made available to the Ecuadorian immigration authorities at the border.
